LATEST USSD CODES FOR MTN, AIRTEL, GLO AND 9MOBILE IN NIGERIA (2024)

As you may have noticed, the familiar USSD codes for topping up your mobile data or airtime are undergoing a transformation across networks in Nigeria. This update stems from the NCC Nigerian Communications Commission’s directive for uniform Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) codes, ensuring a seamless experience for users across all operators.

In line with this directive, major telecommunications companies, including MTN, Glo, Airtel, and 9Mobile, are rolling out new USSD codes for various transactions. This change not only enhances efficiency but also standardizes services for customers nationwide.

For instance, if you’re an MTN subscriber, the old codes like *555# and *556# for recharging your line or *131# for data purchase are now replaced with new codes. Similar adjustments apply to users of Glo, Airtel, and 9Mobile.

To clarify, any mobile network operator failing to transition to these new codes will be unable to provide services to its customers. Moreover, this initiative introduces a unified customer support number and standardized codes for credit recharge and data balance inquiries.

In response, MTN, Airtel, Glo, and 9Mobile are actively informing their customers about these changes. Below, you’ll find the updated USSD codes for each network:
